Strauss appointed as England director of cricket; Moores sacked

He has been appointed former England captain Andrew Strauss officially the director of England cricket, while fired coach Peter Morris. "He [Staruss] will be responsible for long-term strategy for the cricket team men of England and develop the right training and management structure to support it," said Cricket England and Wales Council (ECB) in his new role, on Saturday.



Appointed commander twice to win the ashes after the recruitment process for a month, which was led by Tom Harrison, CEO of the European Central Bank. And Strauss, who led England to the top of ICC Test rankings, a report to Harrison.

Speaking about the appointment, Chief Executive of the European Central Bank said: "The breadth of Andrew ideas and his love for England Cricket and leadership skills proved shone from it was England exceptional leader, is the voice in modern football and has a wealth of experience building successful teams."



"Andrew also widely respected throughout the sports scene. We are delighted that he joins us in the European Central Bank as we set out to create a new strategy for the game."

At the same time, Morris said that he was not given enough time to develop a transitional England side during his second term as England coach. "I will go away with the knowledge that I was given my all for this role. My record in the development of the players stands for itself and although we had was some frustration along the way and I am confident that this team will continue to achieve success supporters desperate and said we want to see."

"I knew when I took on the role that this was going to be difficult for the English cricket and I would need time and support to get the new players through. Is not the time to give my frustration.

"I think time will show that I have an active role in identifying and developing new group of England players who will go on and bring honor and success of the emblem of England. I Englishman passionate who believes in hard work and investing in the right people will bring its rewards."

Paul Farbrace will England assistant coach take charge of the England team for the upcoming series against New Zealand experiences. Players in the former Socceroos Jason Gillespie and Justin Langer are in the fray for the role full-time.
