Only a day after he was told he would not be mentioned along with England, Kevin Pietersen has taken the prospects of participating in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad blow because of a calf injury.
And left Petersen, who smashed 355 for Surrey against Leicestershire at The Oval, after that knock and scans revealed the injury. Petersen is expected to be out approximately two weeks, and this means it will miss the IPL. It was expected Petersen to fly down to India on Friday and was expected to appear for Sunrisers Hyderabad in his last two games in the league against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.
Manual focus right now is on his priorites in the Premier League the Caribbean in July, where he plays for Saint Lucia Zouks. His future with Syrian is still unknown.
On Wednesday, dashed hopes Petersen to come back to England test team when Andrew Strauss declared, the new director of cricket for the ECB Petersen ruled that the dispute is not due to a lack of runs but due to lack of confidence. This prompted Petersen to writing in his column for the Telegraph newspaper he felt misled.
"I went to the meeting expected Strauss to say that the system beating England is good at the moment but if you continue to score runs and if there were injury then I would be in contention to play. I would natural to earn my call, but at least I will be eligible. However, no. Quite simply, I feel deeply their seducer. Tom Harrison has tried to say that Colin Graves and misrepresented by the media when he said that there is a way back for me, "he had written.
Sunrisers Hyderabad currently in third place in the IPL 2015. If they make it to the play-offs, they will be without Trent Services Boult and Kane Williamson as they will be constantly flying to England in preparation for the first Test against England at the start of the Lord on 21 May
