Previous skipper Sunil Gavaskar feels that Virat Kohli ought to lead India in the erratic Test match against Bangladesh and sit out of the three-match One-Day International arrangement that will take after.
The Indian group for the voyage through Bangladesh will be chosen on May 20th in Mumbai and there has been reports that Kohli, who has been playing relentless since last November in Australia may be rested.
"I would need him to play in the Test match and afterward be rested for the three-match One day arrangement. Really, any semblance of Virat, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, who has played a ton can be rested. Preferably as a player, I would need some rest as the sort of workload they have had playing for last four and half months," Gavaskar told NDTV on Friday.
The batting incredible trusts it will be a smart thought to rest Kohli for the ODIs as Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has resigned from longer form will get highly require two and half weeks of break before the ODI arrangement begins after the erratic Test.
