Don't need to talk to my board like Pietersen - Bravo

Dwayne Bravo and was clear about what he believed was right. How did that after your retirement from test cricket not?

It has been five years, and has been dropped from the tests without any explanation. I just thought I would like to move on in my life and career.

And your priorities and system changed in the last 6-7 months after the infamous India tour?

I am still committed to West Indies cricket. Selection is not in my hands but I want to be known that I am 100% ready to play shorter formats. This is how my family lived. I need to make sure that I put myself in a better position. I need to make some smart decisions calculations that are best for me and my family. I still have a few years of cricket left in me and I need to make the most of them to take advantage.

Recently Windies youth team defeated England in a test match. Do you miss being a part of that?

I was happy to see them win, but more than that for new coach Phil Simmons. It's not easy to train the West Indies team. I was even 3 in the morning watching the game even though the game was to play in the evening. I am in contact with these players because they are young and they look up to me. I en joy to share my experience with them. We do not lack the talent. It's just that other things outside cricket kill our cricket.

Petersen gave up his IPL commitments to call England and is ready to hold talks with the European Central Bank. Are you ready for such a dialogue?

It's not a question of my board (WICB) comes to me and tell me to give up the IPL. I do not need it. I have never been in a fight with my board. Yes, it was abandoned for the tour of India under my captaincy, but what actually happened. I can not do much about it. I use the IPL and other leagues to put in offers so that I can fight my way back to the West Indies team.

It is why the cricketers glossy like Chris Gayle, KP and you have run-ins with the councils?

I do not know about KP and Gayle. They are a great cricket players. Officials have struggled to deal with players of this caliber. But I will not put myself in this league because I have not achieved anything close to what they have. Personally, I never had any run-in with the municipal council, but to tour India abandoned. It was a team decision, but I was punished because I was the captain. I have no regrets.

What if you are calling Simmons says he needs you in the test team?

I'll tell him that I have retired. I have not played for five years so I do not know what it feels like test arena. I'm lucky because I played 40 tests and I've enjoyed every one of them. I like to prolong it, but this is not in my hands.

There is a perception that the Caribbean cricket depends on T20 cricket to revive itself on the world stage ...

The win gave the team the confidence to test young people to top-ranked teams can be beaten. Well, T20 cricket in the world has taken by storm. It actually comes naturally to us and we Players taste. We are artists. We played the same way the tests. Every little boy wants to play test cricket. There are young players coming through who are going to do well in tests such as Kraigg Brathwaite, Jermaine Blackwood and his brother Darren.
