Broadcast issues not a problem - Shaharyar

The head of the PCB Shahryar Khan on Wednesday that the broadcast rights issue will not be an obstacle to the cricket series between India and Pakistan proposed and exuded confidence that the two chambers will sort out this issue soon.

Barrier revival of cricket ties between the two countries have been hit after disagreements emerged between the PCB and BCCI about the broadcast rights issues, especially after the PCB Association series with Ten Sports series.

Asked whether he would be an obstacle to the proposed series Khan: "I must clarify that we will be dealing with this issue in the next few weeks, and hope to find a solution for it."

Proposal to revive the India-Pakistan cricket also faced opposition from political leaders, but Shahriar said the decision would depend on the hand of the BCCI instead.

Khan said: "It is not so much with the Government of India and dependence, trade and broadcasters Bank will try together to overcome them and I am optimistic that we can.".

Complete the proposed series, which will include three Tests, five ODIs and two T20S, is part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two last year and will be hosted by Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.

Talking about the memorandum of understanding, Khan said: "India used to be hestitant to come to the United Arab Emirates for the games, but since he was IPL in the United Arab Emirates, and I think that has been resolved booking.

"Therefore, the MoU clearly says that the first series will be hosted by Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates agreed BCCI to that," said Times Now.

Currently in India, Khan was a series of meetings with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jagmohan Dalemya Union Minister Arun Jaitley, Minister of the Chamber of Commerce Anurag Thakur during the past few days.
