Kevin Pietersen showed how desperate is to play for England again by hitting the first triple century in his career on Monday to provide a timely reminder of his talents to the director of the New England cricket Andrew Strauss.
Petersen, was sacked by England in the last year, and ended the day on 326 not out for Surrey after batting for more than seven hours against Leicestershire at The Oval.
"I am desperate to play for England again, and this is what I want to do. It's not just numbers, however, how important is the timing," and said that he was born and said South Africa batsman told Sky Sports.
"I was under pressure this morning ... and this is one of the best roles I've played ever.
"I knew I basically need to answer the question and with the run and goodness: 326 good argument."
Petersen was on 50 tons of first-class and his first County Championship hundred for almost two years. He has faced 373 balls, hitting four sixes and 34-14.
Petersen denied England in February 2014 after a 5-0 Ashes defeat in Australia after it was accused of being a deeply divisive figure in the squad.

"Personal differences between the figures have to do with what the public wants something. The public wants to see England win the cricket. I feel like I can be added to England a good job this summer," he said.
