Sangakkara returns to top of Test rankings

Kumar Sangakkara has reclaimed first place in the ICC Test ranking players, after his double-century in the second Test against New Zealand in Wellington, which hosts won by 193 runs.

Although Sri Lanka lost the series 2-0, Sangakkara 203 in the first rounds of the second Test helped him move up to 909 points in the rankings. Sangakkara managed only 12 runs in total from the three other roles, but it was enough to move one point clear of AB de Villiers in second place. Sangakkara had earlier topped the chart for the record-term tests in 2014, to reach 1438 runs at 71.90, with four hundreds and eight and a half centuries.

Ken Williamson, at the same time, seven places jumped to place profession seventh best in the world rankings after a stellar series that ended up as a leader in the field of employment scorer with 396 runs at a rate of 198. Williamson scored two fifties as well as unbeaten 242 in the second rounds in Wellington, which took to more than 3,000 operating in test cricket, from just 39 games.

Australia Stephen Smith, who scored 769 runs in the four-year series test against India set a record, Angelo Mathews Skip to fourth place in the rankings, while Ferrat Cooley moved up three places to 12 TH after collecting dozens of 147 and 46 in the SCG Test and 692 runs in the series generally.

Between bowlers, was rewarded Trent Boult God 11 wickets from four innings with his sixth position in the standings, nine points ahead of Mitchell Johnson. Dale Steyn still heads the table, with the commander of the lead 79 points on second-placed Ryan Harris.
