Dwayne Bravo, the West Indies allrounder, has announced his retirement from Test cricket, but wants to continue to represent the side in limited amounts games. Bravo has not played a test since December 2010, and his decision comes after he lost the ODI captaincy Jason pregnant and then left out of the side for one day for the tour of South Africa, and also in the World Cup.
And the West Indies pulled out of the tour of India last year under the leadership of Bravo because of a financial dispute with the board and the players' association. It was later removed him from the squad led to allegations of abuse from his lawyer, but the prime determinants of Clive Lloyd said there was no ax to grind. Bravo was chosen for the T20 international against South Africa and were also given a central contract by the Board of Directors.
In a statement announcing his retirement, said Bravo was a "difficult time" for West Indies cricket and those associated with it, but he added that he still wants to "" Brothers with "pride of being the West Indies service."
"Today I am announcing my retirement from Test cricket," said Bravo. "We have already informed the WICB of this resolution, also indicated my desire to continue to represent the West Indies in the shorter formats of the game.
"Over the years, with great enthusiasm, I've done my best with deep awareness that I represent the people in the end of the game.
"I realize that this is a difficult time for all of us. We have seen people in the region and enjoy the great days of cricket, but we will not return to glory even agree to go ahead with our love for the game and respect for the administrators and the players and the public.
"I have experienced the pain and devastating defeat exhilarating joy of victory. It will remind me of happy memories of what we are able to achieve. I want to be a part of this task.
"I thank the cricket fraternity for their support and look forward to serving you with determination and pride of being the West Indies."
Bravo scored 2200 runs in 40 Tests at a rate of 31.42 with three centuries and picked up 86 wickets at 39.83 with two five Forres.
