Mommsen chases history with Scotland

Preston Mommsen will chase a slice of history when he leads Scotland into their third World Cup campaign after Cricket Scotland named their squad of 15 to travel to Australia and New Zealand.
Mommsen was confirmed as captain, having only been appointed in September, and will attempt to marshal Scotland to their first victory at a World Cup, having lost all eight of their previous matches across the 1999 and 2007 tournaments.

Scotland's squad includes experienced Northamptonshire batsman Kyle Coetzer, Warwickshire batsman Freddie Coleman and Matt Machan, the Sussex batsman who made a century against Kenya in 2013.
Former England allrounder Paul Collingwood will be part of their coaching staff having also been involved for the qualifying tournament in February.
At the end of September Scotland travelled to Australia and New Zealand for a series of acclimitisation matches, winning two of their seven fixtures. Coetzer averaged 55.50 on the trip, while Iain Wardlaw, the former Yorkshire bowler also included in the Scotland World Cup squad, took 10 wickets.
"It is a fantastic achievement for the players to be named in the final 15," head coach Grant Bradburn said. "They have all worked hard over a long period of time, as they continue to do in Dubai during the current tri-series.
"There is so much natural ability in this squad and we go to the World Cup aiming to do what no other squad has done before and win games of cricket." Scotland get their World Cup campaign underway on February 17 against co-hosts New Zealand in Dunedin - a fixture which has sold out.
