Ireland, Afghanistan, Scotland seek finishing touches

Three of the four qualifying participants for the World Cup this year to come down to Dubai on Thursday for some combinations that are most needed before the main event. Maybe Afghanistan, Ireland, Scotland prefer to get some opportunities before the World Cup against a full member of the opposition instead of playing with each other. However, they can be grateful for the fact that they now have a bit of a leg up on the preparation of more than Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, both of which are deprived of the ODIs from December 1 until the start of the World Cup.

Ireland
The darlings of the last two World Cups for the hit and miss the autumn tour of Australia and New Zealand. Collective team suffered because of the absence of Paul Stirling, Ed Joyce and Tim Murtaj, and it showed in the results.

Scotland
