BCCI maintains DRS stance

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur has said there is no adjustment in the board's position on restricting the Decision Review System (DRS).

"BCCI's (specialized board executive) Anil Kumble and others had gone to the US to take a gander at the framework and check whether we can enhance it advance," Thakur said. "I think there are regions where we can take a gander at and enhance it to the following level. On the off chance that that is conceivable, the choices are never shut."

Kumble, leader of the ICC cricket board of trustees, and Geoff Allardice, the ICC general supervisor, as of late flew out to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and examined the planned testing of the execution of all advances being utilized as a part of cricket with designers from the Field Intelligence Lab.

The absence of DRS was a main consideration amid India's opening Test in Sri Lanka in Galle, with the on-field umpires attempting to judge bat-cushion edges on a turning track. Focusing on that the India players assume a key part in the board's position on DRS, Thakur said the new BCCI allotment had chosen to stay with the old administration's position for the time being.

"It is not around an individual or a relationship to be against a framework. I think we need to see why we don't have a 100 for each penny framework, or we need to make (up) our brain that it is not going to be 100 percent.

"In the event that you take a gander at the previous couple of months, you will see that we have lost numerous matches and afterward we return and say 'Gracious, we have lost this match, we should take a gander at the DRS'. I think it is not just when we lose a match (that) we ought to take a gander at the framework however we have to take a gander at the general attainability of it, whether it is viable, whether it is near 100 for every penny, whether it will help the choice to be executed. On the off chance that that arrives, we have never shut our psyche to that."
