Pakistan has been ruled fast bowler Junaid Khan out of the World Cup after falling in the fitness test. Junaid has already pulled out of the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand because of a thigh injury sustained in training and despite undergoing a rigorous rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, and thought he had failed his test marginal. Pakistan will announce an alternative in their squad of 15 men tomorrow.
Junaid has been going on in the original "3-osteochondral" break in his knee last October, ruling him out of the entire winter season in Pakistan International in the United Arab Emirates, against Australia and New Zealand. He has recovered from injury to make the World Cup finals, but had a fall while bowling in the nets during training at the Gaddafi Stadium on January 15 in January and was sent to the medical staff of Pakistan with pain in the right thigh and elbow.
Initial tests reported injured in grade-1, which was expected to recover from Junaid in a few weeks, with the PCB doctors to recommend that he took the rest of the comprehensive and avoid traveling. However, Junaid went on a long car trip last month to his home town of Swabi, which is believed to be aggravated his injury.
Polychlorinated biphenyl medical committee agreed that it was not sufficiently recovered from "traction injury to the nerve in the back of the right thigh," and recommended recuperation in NCA. Junaid was withdrawn later in the tour of New Zealand and Bilawal Bhatti was chosen as his successor to the series two games.
